The Air Compliance and Enforcement Unit is a dedicated team that works to ensure air quality compliance is maintained throughout Arizona. Air quality inspectors conduct thorough on-site inspections at regulated facilities to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal air quality regulations. In addition to inspections, this unit conducts on-site response for air quality complaints and concerns submitted to the department. Alleged air quality violations discovered by the unit are also managed by staff in concurrence with ADEQ’s Compliance and Enforcement Handbook.
