Our Air Permits and Compliance section issues air quality permits to industrial facilities that emit significant quantities of air pollutants to ensure that the emissions do not harm public health or cause a significant deterioration in air quality.

We work with our permittees to ensure that permit air quality requirements are met. We do this by conducting inspections and follow-up compliance activities at facilities that we regulate. When air quality requirements are not met, we work with our permittees to help them return to compliance through our compliance assistance program. We do this mission work through our:
