Forecast Discussion:
Last Friday was windy and dusty, and the winds were significant to cause high PM10 (dust) levels at the Douglas monitor throughout the morning. PM10 ended up exceeding the federal health standard, reaching the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (USG) AQI category.
Fortunately, PM10 levels remained relatively low over the weekend and have been low so far this morning.
Looking ahead, more active weather is coming down the pipe this week. More breezes and multiple chances for rain are in the forecast. At least for now, winds aren't looking to be as potent as they were last week, and they'll be out of the southwest, from areas that saw some rain recently. Pockets of dust may be possible, but overall, significant dust isn't expected. Any additional rain will also help to suppress dust.
For now, PM10 is forecast in the Good AQI category each day.
