Discussion
This week and weekend, we'll have multiple opportunities for wind-blown dust. First of all, this evening, dust will be possible from winds from thunderstorms over eastern Arizona. Next, tomorrow evening, breezes from the Gulf of California could cause dust. After that, daytime winds will gradually increase from the day to day, Friday through Sunday. Therefore, afternoon breezes could cause dust over the weekend, particularly for dust-prone areas.
Furthermore, PM10 (dust) will continue to be elevated in the mornings from local industrial activities south/southwest of the Phoenix metro area, mainly weekday mornings.
For now, the dust risk (i.e. risk of PM10 exceeding the standard) is Low. But, we'll watch for any changes to the forecast.
