Forecast Discussion:
Anticipate scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms to develop once again over Santa Cruz County later today. In fact, the National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch in effect for today which covers much of northern and eastern AZ including Santa Cruz. A downtrend in storm chances begins Wednesday but with chances continuing through Saturday. With a decline in storm activity and cloud cover, there will be an increase in temperatures with above normal highs beginning Thursday.
Daily average Particulate levels are expected to remain in the Good range aided by recent rains and warm season ventilation. Of note, there is potential today for a subtle spike in the readings with thunderstorm outflow winds. Thereafter, the likelihood of outflow winds decreases but modestly elevated readings in the mornings and evenings become more likely due to local activities and more stable conditions.
