Discussion
This evening, Pinal County could see its first strong thunderstorm outflow winds of the summer. These winds would/will originate from thunderstorms to the east. Blowing dust will be possible, even significant dust could be possible. Uncertainty makes it hard to pin down how high PM10 levels could reach. This will be the first test of the season, to see how much dust might be out there.
After today, there will be more opportunities for wind-driven dust this week: tomorrow evening and during the afternoons over the weekend. Moderate levels of PM10 will be possible.
Lastly, per usual, we can't rule out elevated PM10 levels from local activities, particularly on weekday mornings.
For now, the dust risk is Moderate on Thursday (mainly for the Hidden Valley area) and Low the rest of the period for now.
