On May 5, 2026, the comment period begins for the proposal to renew the Air Quality General Permit for Soil Vapor Extraction Units. The comment period ends June 4, 2026.

General Permits are a type of permit that applies to a class of sources.

Facilities permitted under this general permit emit the following air contaminants: particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter less than 10 microns (PM₁₀), particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter less than 2.5 microns (PM_2.5), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), nitrogen oxides (NO_X), carbon monoxide (CO), sulfur dioxide (SO₂) and hazardous air pollutants (HAPs).
