Julie Riemenschneider holds a Master of Science in Geology from Baylor University and brings over 30 years of leadership experience, managerial expertise and technical knowledge in program implementation, administrative management, regulatory guidance and remediation oversight.

She assumed the role of Waste Programs Division Director at ADEQ on Nov. 6, 2023. Julie previously served as senior remediation expert and manager of the Pollution Prevention and Air Quality teams for a large municipality, as well as project manager for environmental work for city aviation departments. Earlier in her career, she spent more than a decade at ADEQ as a Remedial Projects Section Manager, Remedial Projects Unit Manager, and Voluntary Remedial Projects Unit Manager, in addition to serving as lead and hydrogeologist for various projects. Julie also worked as an environmental consultant and as a hydrologist for a county flood control district.
