Water Quality Permitting
On Aug. 29, 2024, ADEQ issued an Individual Aquifer Protection Program (APP) Permit No. P-513690 to Copper World, Inc. for the Copper World Project. The purpose and scope of the APP is to ensure that facilities are designed, constructed, and operated in a manner that eliminates or minimizes the impact of the facility’s operation on groundwater quality through operation, closure, and post-closure.

- On March 5, 2024, ADEQ held a public hearing for the public to comment in person on the draft APP permit.
Both the informal community meeting and public hearing were held at Corona Foothills Middle School, 16705 S. Houghton Rd., Vail, AZ 85641.
