Summary:

ADEQ has initiated a rulemaking to adopt rules applicable to the Yuma PM₁₀ Moderate Nonattainment Area (NAA). The purpose of these rules is to reduce fugitive dust emissions that contribute to PM₁₀ levels in the area that exceed the National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS). The Clean Air Act requires ADEQ to develop a State Implementation Plan (SIP) revision to control PM₁₀ in Yuma as a result of a SIP Call from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published on May 17, 2022.

ADEQ is currently conducting a stakeholder process to obtain feedback on draft rules from the public before formal proposal. Details follow.
