ADEQ seeks to modify the Consumer Price Index (CPI) adjustment to make adjustments consistent with the rate of inflation in Arizona. The CPI data is sourced from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The specific data selected for this adjustment is the October Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) for the Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale, AZ Area. This regional CPI was chosen because it is the localized source of data available to Arizona, ensuring that the CPI most closely reflects the state's inflation rate.
