TSIP provides financial assistance to UST owners, operators and property owners of sites with USTs for specific tank site improvements that help prevent future costly cleanup activities. By statute, TSIP application funding is subject to the availability of monies in the UST revolving fund that have been allocated to the program.1
Applicants are responsible for submitting an application for ADEQ approval, acquiring bids, managing and funding contracted work and submitting costs for reimbursement. For applications that are approved by ADEQ, applicants are required to complete the ADEQ-preapproved work within 545 days. Reimbursement requests must be submitted to ADEQ within one year of work completion.
Reimbursement Funding Is Available Up to $300,000 per Facility and Includes:
- Up to $200,000 per site for UST system replacement or modification
- Up to $40,000 per event for baseline assessments
- Up to $25,000 per tank for UST removal and up to $15,000 per site for
- over-excavation of petroleum contamination, if required
- Up to $20,000 per event for suspected release confirmation sampling
