The process starts when ADEQ has announced an Application Submission or Prioritization Period. This announcement will inform you of the timeframe to submit a TSIP application. All applications must be on the current ADEQ forms.

Step 1

The applicant prepares and submits the appropriate TSIP application by the submission period deadline | View Forms >

  • Verify the information included in your application is correct and complete.
    • You can verify ADEQ’s records for your facility’s address on the Underground Storage Tank (UST) Database | View UST Database >
    • You can verify your company name through Arizona Corporation Commission’s (ACC's) online database | View ACC Database >
    • If applicable for the category of work, you can verify that your ADEQ-certified UST service provider is able to do the proposed work | View Service Provider Listing >
    • If applicable for the category of work, you can verify that your environmental professional has a valid Arizona registration | Licensee Search >
  • Check the prioritization score for your facility using the prioritization worksheet | View Worksheet >
  • Consider soliciting and evaluating multiple bids to ensure the work being done is a reasonable cost.
  • Applicants must be registered in the State’s procurement system to receive reimbursement. To learn more about registration, see:

Step 2

ADEQ reviews the applications and prioritization information

  • Applications are reviewed to determine eligibility and completeness of necessary information for processing.
  • After all applications have been reviewed, applications are ranked by highest priority.
  • Funding determinations for applications are issued.

Step 3

The applicant completes the approved actions

  • Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all work conducted will meet regulatory requirements.
  • If unexpected site conditions are encountered while performing the approved work, notify ADEQ by email | Email >
  • We must preapprove any change in the scope of work for costs to be eligible for reimbursement.
  • We recommend qualifying applicants complete the work as soon as possible. Work conducted after 545 days from the date of application approval will not be reimbursed.

Step 4

The applicant submits all regulatory reports applicable to work conducted

Step 5

The applicant submits a reimbursement request

  • Use the current form with all necessary attachments.
  • Reimbursement requests must be submitted within one year of completing the work.
  • Applicants may sign up for Direct Deposit through Automated Clearing House for faster payment (recommended).

Step 6

ADEQ reviews the reimbursement request and determines approvable funds

  • Reimbursement request is reviewed.
  • Processing may be delayed if the reimbursement request does not include all necessary information.
